Early schooling

I have a cute little daughter by name Prajna. We call her honey. Now she is two and half years old. We are sending her to pre-primary school called Eurokids. She goes to Nursery class there.

First we thought why we should send her to school so soon at such young age. She should not be bombarded with ABCs, 1,2,3 etc. now itself. Let her be as free as nature. Any way she has to study for almost half her life. That is up to 22-23 years she has to study to become a post-graduate, 25-26 to do doctoral studies. Further she may have to continue study for professional improvement, personal elevation, developing extra skills etc., throughout life to keep up with the joneses, changing technologies, catch up with youngsters etc.

But if she remains at home, we will teach her only what we know. She may mingle with many children of different temperament, cultures, and attitudes. She will play with all or any of them. She may be able to handle herself, of course with the help and instructions of tutor. The tutors/teachers are specially trained in dealing with young children, have knowledge of child psychology. It will definitely help parents of children in rearing their children psychologically. The child will learn to be on her own, at least for sometime without needing parent.

Yes, the school for her need not be rigorous like military training. It may be a fun place too or more fun with splattering of lessons, rhymes, sport, dance, field trip, moving on with other little friends. That is the way she would widen her world. It is all a part of her growing. Need of the day!
